■ Project Overview
We were in charge of tatami mat installation at a residence associated with Eiichi Shibusawa, who laid the foundation for modern Japanese economy.
For buildings of historical value, it is not merely about renovation but about "preserving the dignity of the space."
At Kuboki Tatami, we carefully interpreted the architectural background and design, and paid close attention to details from material selection to dimensional accuracy and fittings during the installation.

■ About the Installation
In historical architecture, harmony with existing fixtures, columns, and flooring materials is crucial. Tatami mats are not sufficient if they are merely beautiful on their own; they must naturally blend into the entire space.
For this installation, we selected materials considering:
・The texture of the rush grass
・How light enters the space
・The color change after aging
■ Kuboki Tatami's Approach
Based on the highest quality materials and traditional techniques, we handle a wide range of projects, including cultural properties, historical buildings, luxury residences, and hotels.
Tatami mats are an essential element that supports Japanese spatial culture.
Our mission is to pass on that value to the future.
